Frequently Asked Questions
-
What is RunForNico?
RunForNico is a personal campaign led by David, Nico’s uncle. He’ll be running 50 miles on January 10, 2026, to raise $100,000 (and more) for Nico’s treatment.
-
Why is the fundraising goal so high?
Nico’s treatment costs between $10,000–$13,000 USD per month. These are out-of-pocket expenses not covered by insurance in South Africa. Our initial goal is $50,000, but Nico may require care well into 2026, so we’re aiming to raise $100,000.
-
Where do the donations go?
100% of your donation goes toward Nico’s ongoing treatment, medical equipment, transport, and daily living expenses for him and his full-time caregiver, his mother, Surette.
